Antigua Cooking Class and Market Tour
Combine your Antigua Cooking Class with a tour of the local market! During your visit to Antigua’s incredible outdoor/indoor market, you will learn all about Guatemalan fruits, vegetables, herbs, and spices while we purchase fresh foods direct from local growers to use in our class.
Experience the sights and sounds as we help you navigate through the maze that is the market. Once back at the cooking school you will learn about Guatemalan traditional food and cooking techniques all while gaining a deeper understanding of Guatemalan culture and a look into everyday life in the town of Jocotenango.
We can accommodate any and all dietary interests and restrictions – just talk to us!
Itinerary subject to small changes at the discretion of The Heart of Travel guides in order to provide you with the safest, and most comfortable and enjoyable travel experience possible.
How to book this tour:
During the online booking process, you will be prompted to let us know the date and preferred start time of your tour as well as where you’d like your guide to meet you. We ask that you book your tour at least 24 hours in advance in order for us to coordinate all of the small details that go into making your experience unforgettable!
What to wear/pack
We recommend wearing comfortable clothing where you don’t mind rolling up your sleeves and getting a little messy in the kitchen! Aprons will be provided and we strongly encourage closed-toe shoes. Keep in mind you’ll be walking a bit at the market and it’s partially outdoors so sunscreen and/or a hat is a good call. All of the ingredients for our meals are included but you might spot something additional you want at the market for later so feel free to bring some spare change.
